Buccaneers training camp: Demar Dotson reports, hoping for a new contract

Kim Klement-USA TODAY Sports

The veterans reported to Tampa Bay Buccaneers training camp, and that includes Demar Dotsonaccording to Greg Auman. The right tackle had held out during voluntary OTAs in search of a new contract, but he showed up for mandatory offseason work and isn't planning on missing training camp either -- even though he's still hoping for a new and well-deserved improved contract.

Rookies reported to training camp earlier this week, and the first practice will take place tomorrow.

In other news, the Bucs added three former NFL players to their coaching staff as interns: linebacker Alshermond Singleton, wide receiver Johnny Knox and defensive end Mark Anderson will join the team, according to the Tampa Bay Times. All three played for Lovie Smith at various points in time. Bringing in veterans as interns is a pretty common practice in the NFL, and the Bucs had Stephen White as one of their coaching interns last year.
