NFL Mock Draft 2015: Todd McShay keeps Jameis Winston number one

Phil Sears-USA TODAY Sports

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers will pick Jameis Winston number one. It feels like I've typed that sentence over and over and over again the past few weeks, but only because it's almost certainly true. And the latest mock drafts confirm that that sentiment is alive among basically every draftnik out there. Including ESPN's Todd McShay and his latest mock draft.

No surprise here. I have Winston as the top-ranked player on my board, and I believe he will be the first overall pick by the Bucs on April 30. Tampa Bay has to get its quarterback of the future out of this selection, and while Winston does bring with him some off-field risks, I give him the edge as a player over Marcus Mariota. In the areas that matter most in projecting QBs to the next level -- including reading defenses, going through progressions, anticipating throws and delivering the ball accurately -- he's one of the best prospects I've evaluated in the past 10 years.

This fits with basically every other mock draft out there. Several outlets have been doing mock draft roundups the last few months. I never did, because they were boring: it's all Jameis, all the time. In his latest mock draft, Dan Kadar found out the same thing.

This is the only pick where 20 out of 20 mock drafts had the same choice. Go figure. Does anyone else find that total consensus to be a little strange, though?

The pick:
100 percent Jameis Winston

Yep, boring. Which brings us back to point number one: the Bucs are drafting Jameis Winston.
