Jameis Winston, Marcus Mariota see Wonderlic scores leaked

Brian Spurlock-USA TODAY Sports

The Wonderlic scores for the top two quarterbacks have been leaked. I'm not linking to them because the whole process of leaking those scores is messed up, and there's no reason why you would need to know the specific scores. You can Google them if you're really curious, but there's really only one thing you need to know: both Jameis Winston and Marcus Mariota scored well. Their scores are in line with those of some of the best quarterbacks in the NFL.

But the Wonderlic really doesn't mean all that much. We already knew both Winston and Mariota had an outstanding football IQ. They know how to run their offenses, and numerous reports have indicated they were outstanding in picking up and explaining concepts in meetings with teams. A low Wonderlic score wouldn't have taught us anything, except that maybe they had a learning disability or hated written tests or just had a bad day -- there are so many reasons why Wonderlic scores can vary, that making sweeping judgments based on one score is always useless.

Which is why I'm not posting the scores. They don't matter. Both Mariota and Winston 'passed' the test, and that's really all there is to it.
