Eagles trade LeSean McCoy to Bills for Kiko Alonso

Kim Klement-USA TODAY Sports

The Philadelphia Eagles will trade running back LeSean McCoy to the Buffalo Bills for linebacker Kiko Alonsoaccording to Adam Schefter. The trade can't be finalized until next week, when the 2015 offseason officially starts.

I guess that means that the increasingly-unlikely Eagles-Bucs trade won't involve LeSean McCoy. It might involve Kiko Alonso, but the Bucs seem set on drafting a quarterback at number one, and the Eagles would have to give up a ridiculous amount of picks to get the number one pick. I don't see it.

This is pretty rare, by the way. We almost never see huge player-for-player trades in the NFL. The fact that McCoy's a super-star and Alonso coming off ACL surgery makes it even weirder, but McCoy's the second-highest paid running back in the NFL and getting that salary off the books helps the Eagles. I'm not entirely sure who wins it, but I think Philadelphia walks away the winner.

Anyway, another reason to think a Bucs-Eagles trade is unlikely. So there's that.
