The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have Jameis Winston at the facility today in his one pre-draft visit with the team, and they shockingly allowed him to speak to Scott Smith and the media crew at One Buccaneer Place. They just posted the video online, so go watch it.
"Being able to play three years in Florida, I would love to stay here in this great state," Winston said. "I 've just got to take advantage of this great blessing."
"I just want them to know that I"m human, that I'm a great person. This smile isn't fake. I just want to show them that I can be the face of this franchise one day."
Winston noted that being the first pick wasn't that important to him. He also met Vincent Jackson, and talked about hopefully throwing him the ball some day.
It's fascinating that the Bucs actually allowed Jameis Winston to talk to their own team site before he's even a Buccaneer -- if he's even going to be a Buc. I can't think of any other team doing that before.
