The Tampa Bay Buccaneers' handed out a lot of contracts over the past week, but we've barely seen any contract details. Thankfully, Aaron Wilson is here to help us out with Chris Conte's deal.
Chris Conte Buccaneers deal one-yr $1.5M, $1M salary full gtd, $250,000 bonus, $15,625 per game active roster bonus, $1M incentives playtime

That's basically what a solid backup gets paid, or a very low-end starter. While this is hardly a commitment to Conte as a significant part of the Bucs' defense, the $1 million in guaranteed salary means he's likely to be on the roster for the entire season -- and if he gets a lot of playing time, the total value may grow to up to $2.5 million. That'd be a pretty hefty sum for a starter.
The former Chicago Bears safety is not someone you ideally want to gain a lot of playing time, though there's a decent chance that's exactly what will happen this year.
