Grade the Buccaneers' free agency efforts so far

Matthew Emmons-USA TODAY Sports

The first round of free agency is pretty much over, and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have exited it by signing Henry Melton, Chris Conte, Bruce Carter and re-signing a slew of backups and depth players.

Now, I like the signings the Bucs have made. Chris Conte isn't actually good, but he's an improvement over Keith Tandy as a backup and should provide some solid competition at free safety. Henry Melton is a very good rotational three-technique who will give Gerald McCoy some much-needed rest, and Bruce Carter is an athletic linebacker who hasn't been consistently good, but has the potential to be -- and who will compete with Danny Lansanah, so it's not like the season is lost if he doesn't work out.

The question is just: what are the Bucs going to do at the positions they haven't addressed? Who's going to play left tackle? Who's going to play right guard? Who's going to suit up at any of the defensive end positions? Is Leonard Johnson really going to be the slot cornerback? The Bucs won't be able to answer all of those questions in the draft, so we can only hope something more is forthcoming.

Anyway, let us know. What do you think of the Bucs' efforts so far?
