The St. Louis Rams are destroying the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on national television. Apparently, the Bucs are allergic to Thursday Night Football, this being their third blowout loss in three years on Thursdays -- unless the Bucs find a way to turn it around.
The Rams have somehow found an explosive and consistent offense without Todd Gurley, who has just 25 yards on 11 carries. Instead, Case Keenum has carried the offense with a litany of short passes, and one big one: a sixty-yard Kenny Britt touchdown as he burned Jude Adjei-Barimah in single coverage down the sideline. Keenum as completed 10 of 12 passes for a whopping 175 yards and two touchdowns, with a perfect passer rating of 158.3 to go with it.
Meanwhile, the Bucs have struggled on offense despite Doug Martin getting 68 yards on just 12 carries. The Bucs have been completely incapable of blocking Aaron Donald, and Jameis Winston has looked flustered and jittery under pressure, his mechanics breaking down even when he's not being pressured.
The Bucs are still capable of winning this game, somehow, but they need to get a bunch of problems fixed in the second half. Most notably: Jameis Winston needs to calm down, the Bucs need to find a way to get some kind of pressure on Case Keenum, and they cannot continue to let Aaron Donald run wild.
That's a tall order.
