Buccaneers vs. Rams: Thursday Night Predictions

Kim Klement-USA TODAY Sports

The 6-7 Tampa Bay Buccaneers head to St. Louis to take on the 5-8 Rams on Thursday Night Football tonight. The game will kick off at 8:25 p.m. ET, and can be seen on CBS and NFL Network.

Both teams have something to play for: the Bucs are in the playoff hunt, if barely, and the Rams are in the hunt for that 6-10 to 8-8 record that seems to be Jeff Fisher's permanent goal.

I expect the Bucs to win tonight. They've actually been better on the road than at home, and that's been the case for years. More importantly, the Bucs are perfectly suited to beat the Rams: they have one of the league's best run defenses, which means they'll be able to take away Todd Gurley -- and with that, practically all of the St. Louis offense. And on defense they have the running game to slow down that deadly pass rush, and Mike Evans to beat that terrible secondary -- assuming they actually get around to throwing it his way this week.

What's your prediction?
