The Tampa Bay Buccaneers will get their best defender back on Sunday as they take on the New Orleans Saints. According to Rick Stroud, Gerald McCoy will be back in action after missing last week's game with a broken hand.
The defensive tackle had to have a procedure done on his hand last week, which caused him to miss the game against the Bucs. Stroud reports that the procedure included placing "a plate and several screws" in his hand to repair a fracture. He'll have to wear a cast against the Saints tomorrow, but getting him back should prove a boost for a defensive line that is still missing Jacquies Smith and likely George Johnson as well.
In more good news, Lavonte David told Scott Smith of Buccaneers.com that he expects to play against the Saints as well despite an ankle injury, so the Bucs should be mostly healthy on defense. They will be missing Kwon Alexander, though, as the middle linebacker starts his four-game suspension this week.
