Last-minute predictions for Buccaneers vs. Giants

Dale Zanine-USA TODAY Sports

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers play the New York Giants later today, as both teams will fight to stay in the NFC playoff race -- a tougher challenge for the Bucs than the Giants, though the latter are only one-point favorites in Las Vegas.

I have a hard time seeing the Buccaneers win here, though I said the same thing about them playing the Falcons last week. The Bucs' secondary is terrible, and the Giants put up a whopping 49 points last week -- they won't do that again, but there's a good chance Eli Manning makes the Bucs defense look silly. It wouldn't be the first time.

Meanwhile, the Bucs are going to be able to score -- the offense continues to improve and has looked solid the last few weeks -- but without Vincent Jackson and likely Austin Seferian-Jenkins, they'll only have Mike Evans to throw to. He'll be guarded by Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie, who's having a career season. It's not lining up to be a good day for the Bucs.

Ultimately, I think that's just too much for the Bucs to overcome and they lose, 30-27.
