Austin Seferian-Jenkins, Larry Donnell inactive for Giants vs. Buccaneers

Kim Klement-USA TODAY Sports

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers will have to play the New York Giants without tight end Austin Seferian-Jenkins, who is now inactive for his sixth straight game. He participated in practice throughout the week, albeit on a limited basis, and he claimed to be ready to play late in the week. Apparently, the coaches decided otherwise. That leaves Mike Evans as the Bucs' only reliable receiving target today, as Vincent Jackson is out with a knee injury.

The Bucs also activated cornerback Tim Jennings for the first time in three games, having benched him after the bye week. We'll see whether his return van help a disastrously terrible secondary, or whether we'll just see more of the same. Intriguingly, Howard Jones will get the start in place of the injured Jacquies Smith -- the defensive end has three sacks and a touchdown in three career games, but he hasn't shown the consistency or technique you want out of a starting defensive end. Not that the Bucs have much of a choice.

Meanwhile, the New York Giants will start Jason Pierre-Paul in his first game back from injury. They obviously expect the defensive end to play and play a lot, but his effectiveness with an injured hand remains to be seen. Other than that, there are no surprises on the Giants' injury list. Cornerback Amukamara had been declared out on Friday, as had tight end Larry Donnell and linebacker J.T. Thomas.
