Buccaneers vs. Colts predictions

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers play the Indianapolis Colts today in what's a crucial game for both teams' playoff runs. At 5-5, both the Colts and Bucs have a good shot at making the playoffs -- but winning today is important in staying on track for that goal.

The Colts are three-point favorites today, which is mostly because the game's played in their home stadium. The Bucs may actually be fielding the better team, though. Not only have they been playing some quality football over the past couple of weeks, but they're largely healthy. Meanwhile, the Colts are starting Andrew Luck, missing tackle Anthony Castonzo and safety Mike Adams.

Personally, I think the Buccaneers win this game, 20-17. They should be able to run the ball and while Vontae Davis is not an easy cornerback to throw the ball at, Mike Evans has been a steady force in recent weeks and Vincent Jackson's presence gives the Bucs some versatility. The key will be protecting Jameis Winston, which may be tough with Robert Mathis out there, but Dirk Koetter has done a lot to help the offensive line. That should continue today. In all, this could be a good day for Tampa Bay.
