Welp, you don't see a Sunday like that every week (thank goodness). It was Bizarro world NFL where Detroit could go in and beat Green Bay at Lambeau field, Houston (of all teams) could knock Cincy from the unbeatens and Kirk Cousins actually looked like a good QB.
Obviously, my picks took a hit, but thanks to Buffalo and Jacksonville, I did go 2-0 in my upset specials.
Interestingly, if I was ranked among the experts on NFL Pick Watch, I'd be tied for second with The 538 prediction algorithm, Geoff Ulrich of one of those daily fantasy things, and Gordon McGuinness of Pro Football Focus. I'd only be trailing Forbes' Josh Katzowitz.
Of course, they don't list me so I'll just continue to keep track on my own. (I'm not bitter. Really. No, come on, really).
Anyway, on to week 11.
Last Week: 7-7 50% Upset Specials: 2-0
Season: 97-49 66% Upset Specials: 12-8 60%
Byes: Browns, Saints, Giants, Steelers
Thursday Night
Jaguars 24, Titans 17 - Sorry, I just can't trust the Flaming Thumbtacks on the road - even in Jacksonville.
Sunday
Raiders 27, Lions 17 - Coming off their biggest win of the season, the Lions won't make it two in a row.
Falcons 20, Colts 17 - The Colts have no Luck.
Jets 23, Texans 17 - MNF hangover for the Texans. On the brightside, they play in the AFC South.
Eagles 27, Buccaneers 17 - Sorry Bucs fans, the defense has to prove to me more than one week.
Upset Special: Bears 24, Broncos 20 - No Peyton and a revenge game for Fox spells upset for Denver.
Rams 13, Ravens 10 - I'm not sure about this pick. Case Keenum?
Upset Special #2: Cowboys 24, Dolphins 17 - I believe in the power of Romo.
Panthers 23, Washington 17 - This pick wasn't as easy as it was a few weeks ago.
Chiefs 20, Chargers 10 - Are the Chargers already packing for L.A.?
Vikings 23, Packers 17 - I don't know what's wrong with Green Bay, but I like what's right about Minnesota.
Seahawks 24, 49ers 10 - Seahags get back on track.
Sunday Night
Cardinals 27, Bengals 17 - Cue the "Andy Dalton can't win a big game" nonsense.
Monday Night
Patriots 27, Bills 17 - Buffalo could pull the upset. But the Patriots seem to always find ways to win.
