The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have promoted wide receiver Adam Humphries to the active roster to take the place of Louis Murphy, who went to injured reserve yesterday. Humphries is likely to be the team's fifth receiver now, behind Vincent Jackson, Mike Evans, Russell Shepard and Donteea Dye.
Humphries is an undrafted rookie out of Clemson who spent the offseason with the Bucs and was on the team's roster for the first four games, catching a total of two passes for 14 yards before being waived and heading back to the practice squad. Humphries didn't stand out during his first stint on the roster. At 5'11", 195 lbs he's mostly a diminutive slot receiver, whereas all the other receivers the Bucs have are bigger downfield threats.
The Bucs also confirmed the signing of receiver Andre Davis and guard Ryan Groy to the practice squad, while also announcing the signing of defensive tackle Derrick Lott and linebacker Julian Stanford to the same.
