The Tampa Bay Buccaneers were back to business as usual on Wednesday as they hit the practice field after a prolonged break thanks to a Thursday night game against Atlanta.
Lovie Smith told the media after practice that Mason Foster, Michael Johnson and Josh McCown were the only players held out of drills and activities today. The absence of McCown in particular means it's likely that Mike Glennon will start at quarterback this weekend instead.
Absent from the "not practicing" list was Gerald McCoy, who did do some work with his teammates while he recovers from a broken hand. According to Scott Smith, McCoy was limited in practice, but Coach Smith said he looked good and "should be good to go."
Also absent from the list of players held out is rookie tight end Austin Seferian-Jenkins, who was likely limited but could suit up for the Bucs this weekend.
The Buccaneers' head coach also told the media assembled at One Buc Place that the team will be operating as if offensive coordinator Jeff Tedford will not be back with the team this year. According to Tom Krasniqi of 620 WDAE, Smith was "terse" with the media in regards to questions about Tedford, who is slowly recovering from a heart operation.
Smith doesn't plan on making any changes to his offensive staff with Arroyo's absence, noting that Arroyo has been acting as the offensive coordinator for a month already.
