Update: The Rams announced Shaun Hill will start at quarterback, per Rick Brown.
Doug Martin will not play for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers today after suffering a knee injury against the Carolina Panthers. The Bucs are lucky to have Logan Mankins back, though. He had suffered a hyperextended knee against the Panthers.
With Doug Martin out, the Buccaneers are likely to turn to Bobby Rainey to carry the load with Mike James as the lone backup. The Bucs have no other backs on the roster. At least Logan Mankins' return should help the running game a little.
The Bucs will also be missing starters Austin Seferian-Jenkins and Michael Johnson, with starters Mike Jenkins and Adrian Clayborn placed on injured reserve this week. In addition, cornerback Rashaan Melvin, guard Rishaw Johnson and guard Kadeem Edwards are inactive. Da'Quan Bowers and William Gholston will start in place of Johnson and Clayborn, with Johnthan Banks replacing Mike Jenkins.
For the Rams, Shaun Hill is active but his actual participation is in doubt. In addition, RB Tre Mason, CB Lamarcus Joyner, CB Trumaine Johnson, DT Matthew Conrath, RB Trey Watts, OL Barrett Jones and TE Alex Bayer are out for St. Louis.
