Doug Martin OUT for Buccaneers against St. Louis Rams

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers will have to do without Doug Martin today.

Update: Roy Cummings notes that the Bucs will test Doug Martin in pre-game warmups before declaring him out.Jay Glazer is rarely if ever proven wrong, though.

Doug Martin will not play for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers today. He has been declared out against the St. Louis Rams, according to Jay Glazers (via Mike Garafolo).

This means Bobby Rainey will be the starting running back, with Mike James likely to receive a significant workload as the backup running back as well.

Martin suffered a knee injury against the St. Louis Rams last week, but the fact that he didn't look great in that game will have made the decision to bench him this week a little easier, too. With Martin out, the Bucs are still going to want to base their offense on the running game, but that's going to be signficantly harder, especially given the fact that tight end Austin Seferian-Jenkins also will not play.

Stay tuned for the full list of inactives around 2:35 p.m. ET, as we keep you up to date on all the injury news heading into the game.
