Bucs hide their right guard, Mike Jenkins back at practice

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers were back at practice today, and we have all the notes.

Injuries

Good news: Mike Jenkins was back at practice for the first time since the start of training camp, per Rick Brown. It'll be interesting to see whether he or Johnthan Banks will get the nod as a first-team cornerback.

Bad news: Jorvorskie Lane, Louis Murphy, Da'Quan Bowers, Brandon Magee, William Gholston, Rashaan Melvin and Bradley McDougald were still being held out of practice, again per Rick Brown.

Jeff Tedford was still absent, too, sadly. Pewter Report notes that QB coach Marcus Arroyo and Jeff Tedford's son (offensive assistant) were leading offensive meetings in his stead.

Who's the right guard?

No one knows!

Incidentally, Pewter Report notes that new guard Garrett Gilkey can also play center. So that explains why they let Josh Allen go instead of Oniel Cousins.

What about the returners?

With Solomon Patton on the practice squad, the Bucs need new returners. Per Rick Stroud, Chris Owusu and Mike James were practicing kick returns, with Bobby Rainey and Robert Herron as the up backs. Meanwhile, Solomon Patton was still handling punt returns, per Roy Cummings. That's a good sign he'll be back on the roster once they place Charles Sims on injured reserve, designated for return.

New jersey numbers!

In addition, the Bucs' official roster lists Garrett Gilkey with number 72.
