Malcolm Glazer, the man who purchased the Buccaneers and helped lead the change that brought the team its first and only Super Bowl title, will be posthumously honored by the franchise in 2014 with a uniform patch and a video tribute.
While these gestures are merely symbols of the team and the city's love for Glazer and are just a small way of showing appreciate and support to the Glazer family, it's a classy way to handle an otherwise sad situation.
The Buccaneers' website has the information on the patch, including an image, and also features information on a video tribute "highlighting Mr. Glazer's lasting legacy" to be aired at the home opener against Carolina next month. The patches will make their first appearance on Friday evening against the Jaguars when the Bucs kick off the regular season.
Glazer's legacy lives on in the Tampa area through his charities and philanthropic efforts which continue after his passing, and his football legacy will live on in 2014 with a constant reminder of the man who changed the Tampa Bay Buccaneers franchise for the better just two decades ago.
