Injuries
- Mike Evans and Vincent Jackson continued to be sidelined by hamstring injuries, per Roy Cummings. Those were previously said to not be overly serious.
-
Carl Nicks continues to be out, and Lovie Smith didn't sound too happy about it.
No Carl Nicks at Bucs OTA today, and here's coach Lovie Smith's terse answer: "No update. He's not here. He's not here for voluntary work."

Guard troubles
The Buccaneers continued to rotate their starting guards, per Roy Cummings. Oniel Cousins was the starting right guard with Jamon Meredith as the second-team right guard, while Patrick Omameh was the starting left guard, with rookie Kadeem Edwards working as the second-team left guard.
Lovie Smith likes some players
For some reason, the usual Buccaneers.com press conference live stream wasn't working, but thankfully many reporters Tweeted out Lovie Smith's reactions. Smith said that he had six cornerbacks he liked, per Greg Auman. Which cornerbacks? It's probably safe to say Alterraun Verner, Johnthan Banks and Mike Jenkins are three of those players, with nickelback D.J. Moore probably featured on that list as well. Beyond those four, slot corner Leonard Johnson and Danny Gorrer are two other likely candidates. Beyond those five, the Bucs have a slew of inexperienced first and second-year players Lovie might appreciate.
Lovie Smith also once again mentioned Chris Owusu as one of the standouts at wide receiver, per Auman. That's not the first time the third-year pro's name has been mentioned, and he may play a larger role on offense than many expect. With Jackson and Evans both sidelined for now, these OTAs represent a very good opportunity for him to shine.
Other notes
Joint practices are a thing of the past, per JoeBucsFan. No more telling your players they'd better listen to that opposing coach.
#Bucs DT Gerald McCoy on if his agent talked to team about a new deal: "I don't know nothing about that. I just come to work & practice man"
