NFL Free Agency 2014: WR Louis Murphy visits Buccaneers

Robert Deutsch-USA TODAY

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are hosting wide receiver Louis Murphy today, according to Ian Rapoport. The Bucs are actively searching for wide receivers in free agency, having missed out on Emmanuel Sanders this past week. The Bucs have almost no depth at the position, as Vincent Jackson and Mike Williams are their only two noteworthy players, and the latter may be in the dog house over some minor off-field incidents.

Louis Murphy was a fourth-round draft pick for the Oakland Raiders back in 2009, and has a career 121 catches for 1,744 yards and 8 touchdowns. That's pretty solid, but he only managed six catches for 37 yards in fourteen games last year with the Oakland Raiders. Murphy would provide some depth and decent size, at 6'2", 200 lbs, but expecting him to be productive may be a bit much.

Meanwhile, cornerback Mike Jenkins is visiting the Arizona Cardinals after visiting the Bucs yesterday, according to Kent Somers.
