The Tampa Bay Buccaneers will unveil new uniforms to go with their helmets on March 5, Warren Sapp and Gerald McCoy announced on NFL Network tonight. The pewter color on the helmet was changed to a more distinctive look, as the Bucs termed it, while a chrome grill was added and the logo were changed.
The team announced that merchandise will go on sale over the coming weeks, with an exclusive pre-order window for season pass members. The Bucs will hold an introductory press conference on March 5 at 2:00 PM ET to introduce the new uniforms, helmets and logo.
This is the first significant alteration to the Bucs' uniform since 1997, and the first actual change to their helmet or logo since 1997. "The enhanced logo is much larger and portrays a more intimidating presence," Edward Glazer said. "While the chrome facemask is the first used by an NFL team."
