Buccaneers miss six starters on Wednesday's practice

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers just can't catch a break on the injury front. All four starters who missed practice yesterday were absent today, while starting left tackle Anthony Collins and starting middle linebacker Mason Foster were added to the injury report because of elbow and Achilles injuries, respectively. Defensive tackle Clinton McDonald, tight end Brandon Myers, tight end Austin Seferian-Jenkins and running back Bobby Rainey were the other starters who missed today's practice, while Lavonte David continued to be limited.

That's a total of seven starters who are at least in doubt for Sunday's game, and it seems unlikely the Bucs will be able to play any player who missed today's practice at this point. That likely means another week with no healthy pass-catching tight ends (blocking tight end Luke Stocker did participate fully). While the Bucs have been able to compensate for McDonald's and David's absence in recent weeks, Mason Foster will be tougher to replace: backup middle linebacker Dane Fletcher has been pretty horrible when he's had to fill in this year.

With Bobby Rainey unlikely to play, Doug Martin should continue to get the bulk of the carries, while Charles Sims will probably see his workload increase as well.

Meanwhile, the Detroit Lions' only significant injury is to Nick Fairley, who missed his second consecutive practice with a knee injury.
