Okay folks, as we hit the home stretch of the NFL season, it's time to pick up the pieces of another positively mediocre week from your beloved prognosticator of the pigskin.
9-7 overall and 1-2 on the upset specials is not where you really want to be. It's not good. It's not terrible. It's Dallas.
Let's see if we can do better this week.
Last Week: 9-7 56% Upset Specials: 1-2 33%
Season: 119-73 62% Upset Specials: 8-17 32%
Thursday Night
Upset Speical: Bears 24, Cowboys 20 - There's no rhyme or reason for this prediction other than the Cowboys have won their requisite 8 games this season.
Sunday
Bengals 20, Steelers 13 - When Pittsburgh looks back on this season and sees losses to the Yucks, Jests and Aints, they'll wonder what might have been.
Rams 27, Washington 10 - Welp, the Scams are making their run to mediocrity again.
Titans 20, Giants 10 - I'm not sure who the G-men can beat right now.
Saints 30, Panthers 10 - Saints are a surgin'.
Vikings 20, Jets 10 - Vikes get another late season win.
Upset Special #2 Ravens 20, Dolphins 13 - Conventional wisdom is when two teams have the same record, go with the home team - but did you see the Dolphins against the Jests?
Colts 30, Browns 13 - Should've went with Johnny Moneyfingers.
Lions 20, Buccaneers 3 - The Cowardly Ones have one of the best defenses in the NFL. The Yucks have one of the worst offenses in the league. What do you think is going to happen?
Texans 26, Jaguars 3 - It was a nice little win there Jacksonville (Pats them on the head).
Broncos 24, Bills 10 - Bills step up in weight class to prove if they are worthy. They'll be found wanting.
Upset Special #3 - Chiefs 30, Cardinals 20 - Has there been a team (outside of the Dallas-Ft. Worth area) that has experienced a free fall like the Cardinals?
Eagles 27, Seahawks 20 - I gotta admit, I don't feel good about this pick. Seahags seem to be hitting their stride. Philly is a tough place to play, though.
49ers 30, Raiders 10 - This will not be a game for the faint of hearts (in the stands).
Sunday Night
Patriots 30, Chargers 20 - I normally don't go with an East coast team travelling to the West coast - unless they're the Patriots coming off a loss and facing a hot-and-cold San Diego team.
Monday Night
Packers 30, Falcons 20 - Packers continue to feast on the NFC South.
