Just a couple of plays after going over 1,000 receiving yards for the third time in three years with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Vincent Jackson was forced to leave the game against the New Orleans Saints with a groin injury. He's officially listed as doubtful to return, which means he's likely not going to get back into the final game of the season.
That means the veteran receiver will end the year with 70 catches for 1,002 yards and two touchdowns. Not as dominant as he's been in years past, but still a more than serviceable performance, especially given the low level of play at quarterback and along the offensive line. Jackson's hefty $9.7 million salary next year might stand in the way of his return, but the Bucs can easily afford to keep him around and he's certainly capable of being a valuable player. His veteran presence should also help whoever the Bucs have at quarterback next year -- likely a rookie.
