DLT's Deadlocks - NFL Picks Week 17 2014

New, comments

One more week left for DLT to suck at picking games.

Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

Despite it being a long year for the Bucs, I do get a bit sad when the end of the regular season comes. It seems to go by so quickly. No more NFL Redzone, no more Monday Night Football, my Sundays are no longer dedicated to the NFL.

Sure, we have playoff football to look forward to but truth be told, if the Bucs aren't in them, its hard for me to care about it.

So one last time for 2014, let's pick some NFL games!

Last Week: 8-8 50% Upset Special: 0-1

Season: 146-94 61%  Upset Specials: 10-21 32%

Sunday

Ravens 24, Browns 10 - Thank you Joe Flacco for completely boneing me in the fantasy football playoffs. The Browns were who we thought the were.

Cowboys 20, Washington 13 - Dallas finishes a season strong? Wow. You don't see that too often. Washington? Well, Jay Gruden will be back...but so will RGME

Colts 20, Titans 10 - Titans do their part for the first overall draft pick.

Texans 20, Jaguars 14 - Houston had a solid turnaround under first year coach Bill O'Brien. Jacksonville had a typical Jaguars year but Bortles has shown some promise in spurts.

Chargers 26, Chiefs 13 - Gutty comeback by San Diego. Could be a sleeper in the post season. Kansas City didn't have the season they hoped for but it wasn't a huge dropoff.

Dolphins 24, Jets 10 - Miami gets a winning season. Jets finally get rid of Rex.

Vikings 20, Bears 13 - Lovie may be struggling with the Bucs, but that Marc Trestman move certainly isn't working in Chicago. They dream of the salad days with Lovie. Vikes may have something with Teddy and that defense.

Patriots 24, Bills 17 - Buffalo looked like they could be a contender this year. Then they realized they were the Bills. Ho hum, another 13-3 season for New England.

Eagles 23, Giants 13 - The Eagles disappointingly will miss the playoffs. Not sure if Coughlin comes back for the G-men.

Saints 27, Buccaneers 10 - Bucs claim the first overall pick and now have to decide which QB to ruin, while the Saints have some hard decisions on the horizon.

Falcons 27, Panthers 13 - Atlanta wins the division at 7-9. Yay? Carolina keeps the trend in the NFC South going. No repeat champions.

Packers 24, Lions 20 - Green Bay isn't necessarily firing on all cylinders but they should be good enough for a win at home against the Lions. Detroit had a very nice bounce back year under Jim Caldwell. Maybe it wasn't all Peyton Manning.

Broncos 26, Raiders 13 - Peyton looks human this year. Are we seeing the end? The Raiders will be shuffling coaches again. Hopefully they won't screw up Derek Carr.

49ers 24, Cardinals 17 - The Cards are sputtering to the finish due to their freakish QB injuries. I still don't understand why the Niners are parting ways with Jim Harbaugh.

Seahawks 21, Rams 13 - The road to the Super Bowl will go throug the champs again. Jeff Fisher's team is again around 6-10. When will folks realize he's overrated?

Sunday Night

Upset Special: Bengals 24, Steelers 16 - Perhaps Andy Dalton is ready to step forward? Steelers will look back at some ugly losses and wonder what if?

For those who celebrate Christmas, we wish you a very Merry Christmas to you and your family. Happy Festivus for the rest of us!
