The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have officially placed defensive tackle Gerald McCoy, wide receiver Louis Murphy and tight end Austin Seferian-Jenkins on injured reserve with minor injuries that would have kept them out for the res of the season.
To replace those three, the Bucs signed wide receiver Tavarres King, tight end Evan Rodriguez and defensive tackle George Oku to the active roster. All three players were part of the team's practice squad, and should play special teams and backup roles going forward.
King was a fifth-round draft pick for the Jacksonville Jaguars last year, but has spent his time in the NFL bouncing from practice squad to practice squad. Rodriguez was actually a 2012 fourth-round pick for the Bears, and has played in 19 games, catching four passes for 21 yards over the past three years. Uko was an undrafted free agent this season.
The Bucs also sign wide receiver Chandler Jones to the practice squad.
