Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Welp, a couple weeks ago I had my worst week of the season, last week I had my best -13-2 and 2-1 on my upset specials. The only misses were the Bucs, who essentially gave the game away to Chicago and Kansas City (although I should get points for warning it was a dangerous game for them in Oakland).
I love thanksgiving week. It means the regular season is starting to wind down, the byes are over, the playoff chase is in full force and we get a feel who will be competing for this year's Lombardi Trophy.
It's also a time to reflect and give thanks to all that you have.
With that in mind, feast on this week's picks and what each NFL team should be thankful for.
Last week: 13-2 87% Upset Specials: 2-1 66%
Season: 110-66 62% Upset Specials: 7-17 29%
Thanksgiving Day
Lions 23, Bears 13 - Detroit should be thankful for that defense since Stafford and the offense haven't been their normally potent selves. The Bears should be thankful they won the Lovie bowl or everyone might have been fired on the spot.
Cowboys 24, Eagles 20 - Dallas is thankful they didn't listen to all the pundits who said they had no shot this season. Philly should be thankful for Chip Kelly (to think he was almost the Bucs' coach).
Upset Special: Seahawks 20, 49ers 13 - Well, I'm thankful a plate of great games this thanksgiving, finishing it off with the best NFC West rivalry. The Seahawks are thankful they stumbled upon Russell Wilson and Richard Sherman while the Niners are thankful their defense has kept them in contention.
Sunday
Colts 27, Washington 17 - Indianapolis is of course thankful for Luck. Washington is thankful they have Colt McCoy as an alternative to RGme.
Texans 23, Titans 20 - The Texans are thankful for a much improved season over last year. The Flaming Thumbtacks are thankful for the flaming thumbtack - one of the most unique logos in sports!
Upset Special #2: Browns 27, Bills 24 - The Browns (and their fans) are thankful for relevancy - and surprisingly it was without Johnny football. Buffalo is thankful their stadium was unburied.
Ravens 23, Chargers 13 - Baltimore is thankful the Ravens defense continues to be dominant. San Diego is thankful for their fast start.
Giants 26, Jaguars 20 - The G-men are thankful for Odell Beckham Jr. and his amazing catch radius. The Jags are thankful Blake Bortles at least gives them hope.
Bengals 24, Buccaneers 10 - Cincy is thankful not to have spent big money in keeping Michael Johnson and Anthony Collins. Tampa Bay's coach Lovie Smith is thankful he has a five year contract to clean up this dumpster fire.
Rams 20, Raiders 13 - St. Louis is thankful for the Mighty Robert Quinn. The Raiders are thankful to get off the snide.
Steelers 24, Saints 20 - Steelers are thankful for Big Ben, Leveon Bell and Antonio Brown. The Saints are thankful they play in the NFC South.
Vikings 20, Panthers 13 - The Vikings are thankful to be playing football outdoors, the way it should be played. Carolina is thankful they play in the NFC South.
Cardinals 20, Falcons 13 - The Cards are thankful for Bruce Arians. The Falcons are thankful they play in the NFC South - someone's got to win this crappy division, right?
Upset Special #3 Patriots 30, Packers 27 - We're thankful for this potential Super Bowl preview. The Patriots are thankful (as they always are) for Brady and Belicheat. The Packers are thankful for Aaron Rodgers.
Sunday Night
Broncos 24, Chiefs 17 - Denver is thankful for Peyton Manning. KC is thankful that last season was no fluke and the Chiefs are a contender again.
Monday Night
Dolphins 26, Jets 10 - The Fins are thankful they didn't give up on Ryan Tannehill. The Jets are thankful the season is almost over and the beatings will cease.
And we at BucsNation are thankful for you, our beloved readers. Without you, none of us are here. Thank you for continuing to read our stuff and we wish you a very pleasant holiday!
