The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have placed fullback Jorvorskie Lane on injured reserve with a right leg injury. Lane suffered that injury in the team's loss against the Chicago Bears yesterday, when he had to be carted off the field.
Lane has played nine games with two starts, missing two games due to a PED suspension. But the fullback hasn't been a major part of the game plan. Lane had only three carries over the season, and was purely a blocker after his one 54-yard carry in the season opener.
It's not clear who will replace Lane on the regular roster. Luke Stocker took his place as a lead blocker for the two games Lane was suspended, and it seems likely the Bucs will go back to that.
