Update: Bucs linebacker Mason Foster has returned to the field of play with a wrap around his left arm.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Chicago Bears both have been hit with some massive injuries in their matchup today. That started with Bucs fullback Jorvorskie Lane, who had to be carted off with what appeared to be a very serious lower-leg injury.
Losing a fullback is one thing, but both teams have now lost several starters. The Bears are without Lance Briggs and Kyle Fuller, who have been ruled out for the rest of the game with a groin and knee injury respectively. The Bucs are missing Mason Foster (undisclosed) and Austin Seferian-Jenkins (back), both of whom suffered injuries in the third quarter. They have not been officially ruled out.
Mason Foster's injury took an immediate and obvious toll on the Tampa Bay defense, as the Bears charged down unopposed and scored a touchdown the moment he came off the field, as his replacement Dane Fletcher was beat several times on that drive.
We'll have more information on these injuries as soon as we know more.
