The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have promoted cornerback C.J. Wilson to the active roster. The 5'11", 187 lbs defensive back has been on the team's practice squad for most of the season. He was an undrafted free agent for the Chicago Bears in 2013.
The Bucs could use some better cornerback play. Crezdon Butler and Brandon Dixon are the current backups, and they're simply not good enough to be anywhere near the starting defense. Not that a practice squad call-up is likely to fix that, but it can't hurt.
Wilson takes Kadeem Edwards' roster spot, who was placed on injured reserve yesterday.
The Bucs also signed linebacker Jeremy Grable and guard Jeremiah Warren to the practice squad.
