Mark Barron Injury: Buccaneers safety out with hamstring injury

Mark Barron is out for the game with a hamstring injury.

Brad Penner-USA TODAY Sports

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have suffered a big injury on defense. Mark Barron left the game against the Arizona Cardinals with a hamstring injury and was immediately declared out for the game. Barron was limited in practice on Friday with a hamstring injury. Ahmad Black replaces the safety on defense.

Barron has been a major part of the Buccaneers' resurgent defense this year, playing a linebacker-like role in their dime packages. The safety has been a big part of their blitz packages and has been outstanding when covering tight ends and in run defense.

If Barron is out for an extended amount of time the Buccaneers are going to have to revamp their secondary. The dime plays with three safety would have to go, as the Bucs do not have another quality safety on the roster. Ahmad Black will limit what the Bucs can do on defense, as he lacks both size and speed.

Barron will have the next two weeks to recover from his injury, as the Bucs have a bye coming up.
