Josh Freeman Trade: Buccaneers quarterback wants out of Tampa Bay

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are going to have to find a trade partner for Josh Freeman. According to Ian Rapoport of NFL.com, Josh Freeman wants out of Tampa after being benched earlier today in favor of Mike Glennon. That's a lot easier said than done,  however: the Buccaneers may want to trade Freeman and get something in return for their former franchise quarterback, but few teams may want to trade for him.

The biggest issue will be Freeman's contract. The quarterback is due some $7 million this year, and any team trading for him will have to pick up that bill unless they can either get the Bucs to do it for them, or if they can re-sign Freeman to a long-term deal. Neither option seems particularly likely.

Of the teams with enough cap space to trade for Freeman, only the Cleveland Browns and Jacksonville Jaguars might be interested in a 13-game rental, but neither should really be willing to give up draft picks and cap space for the current Buccaneers backup quarterback.
