NFL Power Rankings Week 4: Buccaneers are better than the Jaguars!

New, comments

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers continue to fall down NFL power rankings.

Brad Penner-USA TODAY Sports

It's NFL Power Rankings Tuesday, and that means we get to discuss how the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are ranked compared to the NFL. They're 0-3. It's not pretty.

SB Nation's NFL power rankings have the Buccaneers 31st right now. Oh yeah. Only the Jaguars are worse, apparently.

Give it up for the Buccaneers' public relations office. They're doing some outstanding damage control work cleaning up behind Greg Schiano. The head coach makes a misstep, whether it's with Darrelle Revis or Josh Freeman, and 24 hours later some puffy profile appears. Nobody's buying it. If the CIA were still installing Cold War despots, Schiano wouldn't have to coach an NFL team.

I wouldn't call that ESPN article on Josh Freeman a puff piece, but okay. I wouldn't exactly praise the Bucs' public relations office, either, given the amount of drama we've seen over the past weeks.

But the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are a much better team than the Jacksonville Jaguars or indeed most of those bottom-dwelling teams. They have more talent, and their defense in particular has played very well. The Bucs just need to start winning already. Seriously. Just do it.
