Buccaneers rename radio booth after Gene Deckerhoff

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have rightly honored their 25-year veteran.

Al Messerschmidt

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are honoring radio voice Gene Deckerhoff today, and renaming the radio booth after him. Deckerhoff has been the voice of the Buccaneers for 25 years now, and his calls are legendary with Buccaneers fans.

"There it is! The dagger's in! We're going to win the Super Bowl!" is one of h is most famous calls, grafted in the minds of Bucs fans everywhere. If anyone deserves this honor, it's Deckerhoff. Even when he leaves we'll have a reminder of his cries of "Fire the cannons!" now that the radio booth was renamed for him. He's remained the voice of the Bucs through the good times and the bad.

Deckerhoff is a great radio personality and hopefully can remain the voice of the Buccaneers for many years to come.
