Revis Island comes to Florida - literally

Revis Island comes to Florida. I mean, literally. Darrelle Revis was already here, and his knee looked great, but now we'll have an actual Revis Island in Florida. For one day, that is.

Treasure Island, FL will change its name to "Revis Island, FL" on 9/12 at 2pm. The ceremony will be at The Club at Treasure Island.

The city of Treasure Island, known for one day as Revis Island. Because the name change will, of course, only be temporary. A silly name change for, really, a rather silly name in the first place. For a permanent Revis Island, I think the cornerback would have to buy one from his rather substantial salary.

The name change is happening in support of the 2013 Tampa Bay Buccaneers. They'll need that support given the rather dismal result in the first game and the general pessimism that has taken a hold of the fanbase since.
