Ravens vs. Buccaneers Inactives: No Darrelle Revis, Adrian Clayborn

Both the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Baltimore Ravens will leave a large number of players out of today's game.

Kim Klement-USA TODAY Sports

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have announced the players that won't play in tonight's preseason game, although it's not an official inactives list -- those don't exist in the preseason. Among those who won't play are the four starters recovering from injury: Darrelle Revis, Carl Nicks, Davin Joseph and Adrian Clayborn.

In addition, K Lawrency Tynes, S Sean Baker, FB Erik Lorig, LB Jacob Cutrera, TE Luke Stocker, WR David Douglas, DT Derek Landri, DT Gary Gibson and DE Aaron Morgan will miss tonight's game. Most of these players had been struggling with minor injuries, although David Douglas, Sean Baker and Erik Lorig hadn't been reported to be among the injured in recent practices.

The Baltimore Ravens will also keep a few players out. Tight ends Dennis Pitta (obviously) and Ed Dickson are both out, as are cornerback Lardarius Webb and guard Marshal Yanda -- all starters. In addition, WR David Reed, S Omar Brown, LB Jameel McClain, DE Kapron Lewis-Moore and C Ryan Jensen will miss today's games.

It seems both teams are being careful with their players in an effort to avoid serious injuries. This should lead to some extended playing time for a few backups.
