Ronde Barber won't just be calling preseason games this year: he's going to be with Dick Stockton to form the network's sixth broadcasting team, Fox announced. Dick Stockton was previously paired with John Lynch, and they would frequently call Buccaneers games. Undoubtedly you can expect to hear Barber on several games this year.
Initially, he likely won't be doing many high-profile games. His first assignment is Cardinals vs. Rams, hardly your premium matchup, there. A broadcasting career seems like a perfect fit for Barber, and it'll be interesting to see how the former cornerback adjusts to his new job.
Meanwhile, John Lynch jumps up to Fox's fourth team, joining the newly added Kevin Burkhardt and Erin Andrews. First call: Buccaneers vs. Jets, Week 1.
Fox may have Troy Aikman and Daryl Johnston to give the Cowboys' point of view, but the Buccaneers are coming up the ranks!
