Lawrence Tynes is not progressing all that well, it seems. The Buccaneers are giving up hope that he's going to be on the roster this year, per Mike Garafolo, placing him on the non-football injury list. This means Rian Lindell is the overwhelming favorite to be Tampa Bay's placekicker this season.
The Buccaneers will place K Lawrence Tynes (MRSA) on the non-football-injury list instead of IR, while offering to pay his salary.

Why NFI instead of IR for Tynes? Because IR indicates the infection happened at the facility. Liability issue. Bucs attempting a compromise.

I'm not sure what the point is, here. We'll pay your salary so please don't try to sue us? We're not admitting liability but your situation sucks, here's some money? I wonder what Lawrence Tynes's wife has to say about this.
Regardless, this is the second roster move the Bucs have made to get closer to the roster limit, after releasing Danny Noble. They have 20 more players to cut before 6 PM today.
