The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have signed wide receiver Jordan Norwood, who was released by the Cleveland Browns earlier this week. Norwood has posted 36 catches for 405 yards and one touchdown the past two years. He originally entered the league as an undrafted free agent in 2009, but didn't see regular playing time until 2011. He won't have much time to convince the Bucs that he belongs, but he'll likely get some playing time tonight. He will have to compete with Chris Owusu, Eric Page and David Douglas for a roster spot.
To make room for Norwood, the Buccaneers released defensive end Aaron Morgan. I had high hopes for the speed rusher who showed some ability in limited playing time last year, but Morgan hasn't been healthy this preseason and that has made it tough for him to stand out. Hopefully he can get healthy, catch on elsewhere and show off his skills.
The Bucs have to cut down to 53 players by Saturday, 4 PM.
