Darrelle Revis will not play against Dolphins, Joseph will

Injury updates for tonight's game for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers against the Miami Dolphins.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers won't ask (or allow) Darrelle Revis to play against the Miami Dolphins tonight. The Bucs say he had a good week of practice with a few full-participation practices. But the team doesn't want to risk a setback, targeting the regular season opener as the relevant game.

Davin Joseph, on the other hand, has been cleared for the game. With Carl Nicks out with MRSA for an undetermined time, having Joseph back will allow the Bucs to at least try their best backups at left guard. That appears to be Gabe Carimi, who will start the game at left guard.

Brian Leonard will start at running back, which likely means that Doug Martin won't get any snaps after a head injury last week. Meanwhile, Tom Crabtree will start at fullback, which may have some implications for Erik Lorig.

The Bucs are expected to play their starters into the fjord quarter, so we would get a good view of the state of the team.
