Let's go with some good news about cornerbacks. Oh yes, that exists too. Here's one: the Pro Football Talk Top 100 concluded, and they had Darrelle Revis as the tenth best player in the NFL. Ahead of Richard Sherman, of course, and the fourth-highest of any defensive player behind only J.J. Watt, Von Miller and Geno Atkins.
Carl Nicks and Doug Martin had previously made an appearance on the top 100, coming in at 77 and 79, while Gerald McCoy and Vincent Jackson entered the list at 60 and 57, respectively. That's pretty good, right there.
The Pro Football Talk rankings were composed by surveying a bunch of media members, so this doesn't mean much, but it's still fun. I mean, we all know Revis is very, very good when healthy. We just don't know how he'll return from his ACL injury. He should start practicing on a limited basis in training camp, which starts Wednesday with the dreaded conditioning test.
The Buccaneers have talent to do well this year, and Revis may be the biggest talent of them all.
