Here we go, it's the second day of the NFL Draft and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers will get to finally make their first pick. They have plenty of needs and could target a variety of players with the 11th pick in the second round. Cornerback, tight end, defensive lineman, linebacker and even wide receiver are positions the Buccaneers could be looking at at this point.
We'll be with you throughout the second and third round, and we'll be providing analysis when they end, of course. Let's go!
========
8:34 p.m.: And there goes another draft day faller off the board in Eddie Lacy, going to the Packers.
8:29 p.m.: Robert Alford out of Southeast Louisiana. A talented cornerback, but a bit of a wildcard. The Falcons are desperately trying to upgrade their secondary. Too bad they still don't have a pass rush. Meanwhile, the Patriots took WR Aaron Dobson.
8:17 p.m.: Safety D.J. Swearinger goes to the Houston Texans. Montee Ball to the Broncos means Eddie Lacy keeps falling. That medical has to be pretty bad.
8:12 p.m.: Vance McDonald just went to the 49ers, while the Baltimore Ravens took linebacker Arthur Brown. Finally he goes off the board. We're getting to the end of the second round now, so the Bucs could make their pick soon.
8:04 p.m.: Jamar Taylor for the Dolphins. We're seeing a run on cornerbacks now, started by the Buccaneers intriguingly.
8:02 p.m.: The Bengals just took Margus Hunt. Intriguing, and the Bucs were rumored to be interested.
7:57 p.m.: And another linebacker goes off the board with Jamie Collins to the Patriots. Errr...seriously, what's wrong with Arthur Brown?
7:52 p.m.: The Washington Redskins have taken cornerback David Amerson, while the Chicago Bears took linebacker Jonathan Bostic. What, exactly, is wrong with Arthur Brown?
7:44 p.m.: I don't pay attention for a couple of picks and I miss two? Wow. Cardinals took Kevin Minter before, while the Cowboys just took tight end Gavin Escobar (a possible Bucs target) and the Steelers got running back Le'Veon Bell. And the Giants took defensive tackle Johnathan Hankins. Yeesh.
7:36 p.m.: The Buffalo Bills take Kiko Alonso. Why does Arthur Brown keep falling?
7:32 p.m.: The Panthers took DT Kawann Short. They really want to shore up that defensive line.
7:27 p.m.: The Bucs have selected Johnthan Banks. Here's our story.
7:25 p.m.: Menelik Watson to the Raiders. The Buccaneers have made their pick and will not trade down.
7:20 p.m.: The Bills take Robert Woods out of USC. Very professional receiver. Really liked him, but there are a number of receivers like him in this draft.
7:16 p.m.: And there goes the best defensive end in the draft for my money in Tank Carradine to the 49ers. The rich just keep getting richer.
7:06 p.m.: And the Mark Sanchez era ends with a whine. The New York Jets just took Geno Smith.
7:03 p.m.: And there goes Manti Te'o, so we can stop worrying about him going to the Buccaneers. We're now just five picks away from the Bucs' pick. If they don't trade down.
6:59 p.m.: The Bengals just took the first running back in the draft with Gio Bernard. First time since 1963 no running back went in the first round. Meanwhile, the Chargers have traded up with the Arizona Cardinals. Who are they targeting?
6:54 p.m.: The Detroit Lions just took cornerback Darius Slay. Interesting that he's going this early. Still plenty cornerbacks on the board for the Bucs.
6:52 p.m.: The Bengals are re-signing Andre Smith per Adam Schefter. So there's that.
6:48 p.m.: And there goes Zach Ertz. Travis Kelce and Gavin Escobar are the top tight ends on the board now.
6:42 p.m.: The Titans take Justin Hunter out of Tennessee. Keep him local. Hunter may be the most physically gifted receiver in the draft. And they gave up a third-rounder and a seventh rounder for that? Damn.
6:40 p.m.: The Tennessee Titans have traded up. Why? No one knows (yet).
6:36 p.m.: The Jaguars have selected safety Jonathan Cyprien. You could argue he was the best safety in the draft. Great pick.
6:34 p.m.: And we're off again! The Jacksonville Jaguars are on the clock.
6:28 p.m.: Bill Polian blasted Tyrann Mathieu:
Bill Polian does not like Tyrann Mathieu: "Poor teammate & poor risk. I don't know why you'd want him at any price."
