The Tampa Bay Buccaneers will try to trade back in the second round today, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network. The Buccaneers didn't have a first-round pick in this year's draft and gave up a third-round pick in 2014 for the rights to Darrelle Revis. To be able to afford Revis's massive salary, though, the Bucs would need some cheap labor -- and no NFL labor is as cheap as drafted labor.
Trading back would give the Buccaneers a few more picks to round out their roster. It also makes sense in another way: there's a lot of decent talent left on the board, and you won't lose much in terms of talent by trading pack to the end of the first round. The Buccaneers could address multiple positions after trading back, giving them the flexibility to let the best players fall to them.
Tampa Bay is most likely to be looking at a cornerback, tight end or (backup) defensive lineman, and they'll have plenty of available choices at those positions. Names repeatedly linked to the Buccaneers include SMU defensive end Margus Hunt, MIssissippi State cornerback Johnthan Banks, Kansas State linebacker Arthur Brown, Rutgers cornerback Logan Ryan, San Diego State tight end Gavin Escobar and even LSU cornerback Tyrann Mathieu.
