Remember when Johnthan Banks was the popular pick for the Buccaneers -- in the first round? Those days are over, and Banks is now seen as a second-round prospect. Which is a little surprising, but we'll take it. In the SB Nation community mock draft I took Xavier Rhodes in the first round, and asked you guys who to take in the second round. Johnthan Banks came out of that poll, so that's the pick. Here's what Dan Kadar had to say about it:
Running a mock draft like this one can is a challenge. Some users pick based on what could happen, while others look at what should happen. In this case, it's a what could happen scenario. The Buccaneers are so bad in the secondary that this is practically a necessity, unless they deal for Darrelle Revis. Worst case scenario with these two is that Rhodes eventually gets moved to safety next to Mark Barron. Best case and Tampa develops one of the best young secondaries in the NFL.
Head on over to Mocking the Draft to cast your vote on the pick, and see what I had to say about the pick.
