Tuesday free agency news, rumors, signings: live blog

7:59 p.m.: The NFL has banned low blocks from behind per Pro Football Talk, finally giving defensive players some protection too. The NFL also changed on field goal and PAT rushes, where teams are no longer allowed to load up one side of the line, I can't recall if the Bucs did that on those plays, but they do do that on punts. The NFL is also expected to remove the Tuck Rule from the rulebook, and may also penalize offensive players lowering their heads to initiate contact outside the tackle box.

7:58 p.m.: QB David Carr has re-signed with the Giants, per Mike Garafolo. The Bucs may have been interested in him as a backup, too, given his ties to Bucs offensive coordinator Mike Sullivan.

2:20 p.m.: The Raiders have given Rolando McClain permission to seek a trade, per Ian Rapoport. Good luck with that. He has gone through multiple off-field incidents, has been absolutely horrible on the field -- just godawful -- and he carries a massive contract. Yeah. Who is going to trade for that?

8:35 a.m.: The Bucs are talking to Brent Grimes and reportedly losing interest in Darrelle Revis. This strikes me more as a negotiation ploy than anything else, with some truth to the core message.

Here's today's open thread and live blog for free agency. Things are slowing down, but there are still plenty of players out there the Buccaneers could look at. Most notably, of course, some cornerbacks.
