We have another mock draft from Mocking the Draft for you today. Intriguingly, Dee Milliner shows up once again. Milliner is a likely slam-dunk selection if he does fall to the Bucs' 13th overall pick, as the consensus best cornerback in the draft. Milliner is physical, a willing run defender and a quality all-around cornerback -- though perhaps not as good as Morris Claiborne in coverage. He's a player the Buccaneers desperately need in the back end, though, and he'd look great in pewter and red.
Dee Milliner will be a dangerous cornerback in the right scheme, but he's not a lock to be dominant in the NFL. He plays the boundary well and has the ability to read and react on the football. Given his size, Milliner also plays the game with a physical edge. Does he have the ability to dominate in man coverage? Maybe not. But after losing Aqib Talib, cornerback has become one of Tampa Bay's biggest needs.
There are some caveats here, but that will be the case with any player selected in the middle of the first round. Or, well, any player picked anywhere in the draft. The sure thing does not exist. But Milliner is a good bet to be the Bucs' first-round pick, if he's available.
