At today's NFL combine media event, Buccaneers head coach Greg Schiano addressed the media, and roundly endorsed his quarterback.
Schiano on Freeman : "end of season, I probably said something I shouldn't. ..." reevaluated whole team ... "Josh Freeman is our QB"

At the end of the season, Schiano noted that they wanted to increase the competition at quarterback, but that apparently didn't mean replacing the starting quarterback. It referred to the backup position -- which makes perfect sense: you're simply not going to find a better quarterback than Josh Freeman in trade, free agency or even in the draft this season.
While the Bucs will try to increase the competition at quarterback to give Dan Orlovsky a run for his money, they will continue to start Freeman. The latter quarterback may be entering the final year of his contract, but with a second season in the same offensive system with Vincent Jackson, Mike Williams, Doug Martin and a very good offensive line at his disposal, he should be more than good enough to finally get the Buccaneers back to the playoffs again.
Provided the team doesn't come up with the worst pass defense in the NFL again.
