Vincent Jackson expects to play today against the Buffalo Bills, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network. The receiver reportedly told a friend that he's a fast healer, although he will work out pre-game to make sure he's ready to play. At this point there's little reason to expect he won't suit up, though.
That will be good news for Mike Glennon and company, who face one of the best pass defenses in the NFL in the Buffalo Bills. The Bucs are expected to lean heavily on the run and Bobby Rainey against the Bills, as they've attempted to do over the past six weeks. The Bucs struggled to get anything going against two stout run defenses the past weeks, but should be able to find some running room against a struggling Buffalo run defense.
With Vincent Jackson healthy the Bucs at least keep a realistic threat of big completions alive, as Glennon struggled to throw the ball down the field decisively to anyone but Jackson last week. With a largely healthy offense the Bucs should be able to do some damage against the Bills, at least.
The Buccaneers and Bills face off at 1:00 PM today in Tampa.
